Hello and welcome to my little space on the internet. I hope you find your time here to be entertaining, educational and inspirational.

- I have varied interests from target shooting, music, art history to politics and volunteering. I enjoy spending most of my time learing how to cook, doing crafts and generally just enjoying life. I love hanging out with my family, friends and two dogs. I like all kinds of arts & crafts, music and recipes even though I am very un-crafty, un-talented and un-domesticated. But in my defense I do try. I like some outdoor activities like 4-wheelin and target shooting. The things to know about me is that I am addicted to Starbucks and Diet Green Tea. I am a hopeless romantic and am crazy about a man named Jody (I think I might marry this man someday) and I take lots and lots of pictures. I am hoping to incorporate a little bit of everything that makes me... well, ME into my site. Please feel free to leave comments and feedback or even follow my blog if you'd like. I do hope you enjoy the page and stop back by often.

Homemade Laundry Soap
I went out today and purchased the items to make homemade laundry soap. Supposedly for $15 you can make a years worth of detergent. You use one 4lb box of Arm & Hammer Baking Soda, one 3lb box Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda, one 5lb box of Oxi-Clean, 3 bars of Fels-Naptha soap and one box of Borax (all items found side by side on the shelf at my local Wal-Mart). You grate the Fels-Naptha soap with a cheese grater or in the food processor and then empty all the contents into a trash bag lined five gallon bucket. Mix all the ingredients together in the bucket and then cover. Directions say use one tablespoon per load however I have read that most people like two tablespoons.
I have not tried this as of 1-16-2012 and am weary about using my food processor for grating soap however, I'm not using it for food so what the heck! Also, as un-domestic as I am I had to Google if Borax and Boric Acid are the same thing. THEY ARE NOT!!! I'll let you know how it turns out.
Update: The food processor was a small one that held one bar at a time of the soap. It did okay but I think next time I would use a cheese grater.
1-19-2012- Used it on two loads of laundry so far- whites and darks. Everything smells great and looks brighter. It works! Try it.
Questions asked: 1. Can this be used in high energy machine? Yes, supposedly it does not foam like you would think it would. You pour it in the drum of the machine not the dispenser.
2. How much do you use? Some say 1 tablespoon per load and others say 2 tablespoons. Use your own judgement (they don't call me un-domestic for nothing ya know)!
Stay tuned for other great hints and projects I attempt from my Pinterest addiction.

Pinterest...Addiction Worthy!
I apologize, my blog has been under construction for awhile. I have found someone to occupy my time for the past year and a half. If you know me personally then you already know all about Jody and if you don't know me well you will know about me and him soon enough! :-)
Okay y'all here's my newest addiction (no it's not a new flavor from Starbucks) it's a website called Pinterest. What is a "pinterest" you ask? It's a Virtual Pinboard where you can attach the url's (addresses) to websites you find interesting. Want to learn how to make something? Want to know how to decorate for a wedding? Need an idea for a gift? It's all here in one place on the web (well to pins that direct you out to other sites on the web that tell you exactly what you want to know or do). Just type in what you want to learn how to do in the search box and set back for the next few hours and relax as you explore all the options that pop up. Look up www.pinterest.com and submit your request to join. It will take about a week to get your public invite or if you know someone already on there tell them to e-mail you an invite. Believe me, you won't want to wait to get started on some of these projects.
Let me know about the projects you have found on the site and as I do some of my projects I'll post them here. I'm the most un-crafty person there is even though I love to learn how to do new projects. This site has got me so excited that it has been the only thing to tear me away from Jody in a year and half. It's the newest social media craze so you know I'm all over that and into spreading the addiction. Enjoy and follow me here: http://pinterest.com/tiffanyisanisc/.
